ANTIQUE LOCKS RESTORATION
We have restored, repaired and serviced a lot of locks on vintage and antique furniture pieces. Most of them were locks on small drawers, wine cabinets, and timber cases and came without keys. It is an enjoyable job to complete the lock’s destination into that piece of furniture. Pick open the lock, give it a check out, make a nice and aesthetic key, service the lock and refit it to where it belongs. When the key turns inside the lock smoothly and the lock gives a clean click sound, we know it is delightfully completed. Most of them are pipe keys with a hole inside the key stem. Keys are all hand made to guarantee a nice look on key flags. For all pipe keys and pin keys we pay attention to their marks, looks and importantly strength for a long usage life.
If customers have an old-school lock on their front doors or storage doors, they are very likely to be a rim lock. We can restore them by cleaning and repainting works, as well as repairing if necessary. Most of them are old but gold, functioning for good security and classic look matching the unique style of doors. Their keys are called rim keys, normally combined with a round key head, long stem and big key flag. We hand make or copy such keys with brass key blanks.
